The UN Sustainable Development Goals are a cornerstone of Matter’s approach to impact.
They underpin our methodology and act as a compass for the change we seek globally.
Our Impact Framework is designed to focus on the metrics required to transition to a low-waste, water-wise, circular economy and achieve compound behaviour change. We will work in collaboration with industry, Smart Cities and policy makers to provide a pathway to reach these targets.
Save
870,000 tonnes of CO2 equivalent each year in Australia. As well as protecting and restoring water-related ecosystems by 2020.
Reduce
waste by 20% per capita and substantially reduce the number of people suffering from water scarcity by 2030.
Increase
material recovery by 70% and water-use efficiency across all sectors by 2030.
Divert
85% of landfill waste and 50% of untreated wastewater through increased recycling and safe reuse by 2030.
Enable
circular economy for organics by minimizing FOGO waste contamination (<1%) and enhance global cooperation for water and sanitation capacity-building in developing countries by 2030.
Matter acknowledges the Traditional Owners of country throughout Australia and recognises their continuing connection to land, waters and community. We pay our respects to them and their cultures; and to elders both past and present.
